Wireless Multimedia Freedom is now brought to you by the latest technology called DLNA.Getting content from your smartphone pr PC or laptop onto a TV is never a challenge these days.Of many new technologies, this one is being used in most homes across the world. As a rough there are about 1,00,000 gadgets flooding in the market which are DLNA compatible.Using DLNA,you can screen photos or videos from your smartphone or TV or laptop directly onto your TV.All you need is a wireless network and DLNA compliant gadgets. The main advantage of the DLAN is that there are no wires or messy cables involved and the setup process isn't that tough. The main market players in the DLNA segment are :
NOKIA
NOKIA has an app called PLAYTO using which you can wirelessly stream videos and photos to your DLNA compliant TV or media player. You could even play music on your DLNA music system.Phones like E7,N8,and X7 are all DLNA compatible.Once this app is installed (http://betalabs.nokia.com) , connect it to the WiFi network and choose the device on which you wish to stream content. The phone acts as a remote while you flick through your photos and videos.
SAMSUNG
SAMSUNG's latest smartphone , the Galaxy S II has an app that can stream images and videos directly to a smart tv over WiFi.The app called smart view supports all LED smart tv models . The app requires Android 2.3 Gingerbread or higher installed in your phone. This too like the NOKIA's app can make the phone act exactly like a remote to flick through images and videos via a wireless router .One can also use the phone as a game controller while playing games on your TV . This is an extra feature that SAMSUNG provides. We can expect this in the NOKIA phones too since the NOKIA'S app is still in the beta stage.
